Construction on the Jim Burks Firefighter Memorial Park started in
November ’06 and was completed the end of February ’07.
The Firefighter statue is the centerpiece of the memorial. The statue was unveiled at the completion of the dedication ceremony
The inscription on the base of the Firefighter statue reads “This statue was erected in March 2007 in honor of the dedicated men and woman who have selflessly and bravely served as volunteer firefighters for the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department over the past 100 years. The surrounding memorial is dedicated to all firefighters everywhere
Memorial and honorary bricks surround the statue. Many are dedicated to the memory of Firefighter Jim Burks
The names of Granbury Firefighters past and present surround the base of the statue on five sides
