The Granbury Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1907. We are dedicated to the prevention and suppression of fires, as well as response to medical emergencies and other incidents in the City of Granbury, Texas (35 miles southwest of Fort Worth), and Hood County.

Our sixty volunteer members serve the City of Granbury (pop. 6,000) and Hood County (pop. approx. 55,000) with a service area of approx. 436 sq. miles (15 surface sq. miles water), averaging about 1400 runs annually. In October 2003, we also began to respond to all emergency medical calls in the Granbury
